Yining Fang

Yining Fang is a New York-based artist working primarily in sculpture and drawing, with an expanded practice that includes printmaking and installation. She received her BFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in 2025.

Using language, found objects, resin, wood, and paper, Fang creates works that bring together personal histories, collected traces, and everyday encounters. Her practice explores how private experiences take on physical form and how objects can function as vessels for preservation, accumulation, and remembrance. Language and material are treated as equal elements in her work, existing alongside one another without explanation or hierarchy.

Her work has been exhibited at NotThatDeep Gallery, the School of Visual Arts, and Bubec Gallery in Prague, and published in SICK Magazine, ArtMaze Magazine, ArtsinSquare, Visual Opinion, and 20/20, an SVA publication curated by Bill Arning. She was a 2026 ChaNorth Artist Resident and a 2026 Chinatown Soup Artist Residency recipient. Her honors include the 2025 Homiens Art Prize Highly Commended Award and the Society of Scribes Award for Excellence in Printmaking.
